HAVANA - 4nights

Day 1: Welcome to Havana! After clearing immigrations and customs, our airport representative lead you to your driver who will transfer you to a private house in the heart of the historic center. *Light lunch and meet and greet with your concierge. *Get your feet wet with an afternoon orientation walk visiting some of the key squares of Old Havana. Later that evening, celebrate your arrival with a welcome dinner at a private restaurant. (*For morning arrivals)

Day 2:Meet with our local expert guide and walk in the footsteps of cubans visiting hidden places of real Cuba. Oportunity to visit a goverment stores 'bodega' where the rationed goods are sold using the famous ration card "La Libreta" and understand how does it work. Lunch with locals in their own homes. The appearances are deceptive: behind the cruddiest of doors are furniture, paintings, artefacts and family heirlooms lavished with care. Spend an afternoon with an avant-garde artist in their studio as they explain their muse. Attend a private view of a gallery show and meet other Havana-based artists who, year on year, garner more international recognition. Next, get to know the children, teachers and headmistress at La Casa del Niño y la Niña in Centro Habana, an after-school academic outreach program for kids in troubled neighborhoods. Hidden away among fishing shacks on the Jaimanitas river you'll discover a gret restaurant for dinner. A fish and superb sushi-based menu is offered by the family of fishermen who own the restaurant and catch the fish daily. Pasta options are served for those who don't wish to eat fish

Day 3:Your art curator guide will take you through some hidden communities of Havana to discover new art expressions from within the neighborhood. Such as Alexis Leyva´s (Kcho), community project, Fuster's home and studio in Jaimanitas, also known as Fusterlandia, Las Salsitas, Art and Cut, Project Cuba among others. Its an opportunity to interact with kids and their community to view some of their artworks. Then exchange with a Cuban economist at a local paladar where you'll have the opportunity to discuss the impact of private businesses on Cuba's economy. After lunch our expert on Afro-Cuban history, will lead you through a tour on a very sensitive subject in Cuba, 'racism', walk along the streets of Havana with our expert on this topic, learn and share his knowledge and experience. In the late afternoon, skirt the scrum of gossip that steams at the esquina caliente (hot corner) as baseball fans banter about the latest match. Dine great tacos and pork medallions plus super service and cocktails in a private restaurant owned by a big film producers who attract the cool film crowd. Enjoy music, dance, film, art and shows under the same roof with locals.

Day 4:This morning will be challenging as we will live like a local and experience 'la lucha' (the struggle); journey through the city searching for food using the local peso. Visit agromercados and food market with our cuban chef then go back to a private home for a lesson including key Cuban cooking techniques. Over a light lunch you will have the opportunity to talk about the history of Cuban cuisine including a review of some antique cooking books. No visit to Havana is complete without taking to the floor in a Salsa Club, so after lunch our teacher guarantees to have you up and dancing in no time! Learn the basics in a just one lesson. Relaxing afternoon before dinner and limber up for a night of dance moves. Salsa savvy pros will guide you through your steps before taking you to palaces of music and dance and introducing you to the etiquette of dancing and drinking under tropical nights.

Day 5: After breakfast, bid farewell to Cuba and board your departure flight.
