Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean and the westernmost island of the Greater Antilles. We offer some of the best diving packages to divers of all levels of expertise in truly one of the world's best places to dive. Cuba's warm 24C/76F (yearly average) waters are clear and pristine with hardly any coral destruction or pollution, making it ideal for a diving holiday. The average visibility is 30 to 40 metres, and Cuba's diving holiday makers will delight in the underwater paradise unveiled before their eyes - home to 50 species of coral and 200 species of sponge! Pillar, staghorn, elkhorn, spectacular gorgonians, sea fans and plume worms are all there to be seen, as are barrel and tube sponges, sea urchins, spiny lobsters, coral shrimp and crabs on the seabed ensuring a fascinating variety.

Our Cuba's diving instructors are certified by SSI, ACUC or CMAS, and most speak English. Experienced divers should bring their C-Card with certification level along with their logs. NAUI safety standards are applied at all centres, and all of Cuba's dive areas have sites for experienced divers and for novices.

HAVANA - 1night

Day 1: Welcome to Havana! After clearing immigrations and customs, our airport representative lead you to your driver who will transfer you to a private house in the heart of the historic center. *Light lunch and meet and greet with your concierge. *Get your feet wet with an afternoon orientation walk in the footsteps of Havana's colonial past visiting the four key squares of Old Havana. Later that evening, celebrate your arrival with a welcome dinner at a private restaurant. (*For morning arrivals)

MARIA LA GORDA - 3nights

Day 2-4: Early breakfast, check out and transfer to Maria La Gorda in Pinar del Rio province (330kms). Considered one of Latin America's top diving sites by divers, María La Gorda boasts some 32 dive sites with enviable visibility, abundant coral gardens, wonderfully and healthy reefs and rich marine life. Water temperatures average between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius and this part of western Cuba is incredibly unspoilt. While a magnet for divers, the area also attracts visitors for its superlative snorkelling, pristine beaches, and big game fishing. Just offshore you'll enjoy a vertical plane of black-coral walls cut with tunnels and caverns, 18th-century shipwrecks and wonderfully colourful fish.

CAYO LEVISA - 2nights

Day 5-6: After lunch 2.5hrs transfer until Palma Rubia to get a boat transfer to Cayo Levisa (232kms), your second stop for diving activities. Cayo Levisa is an excellent destination for diving enthusiasts and the home to sponges, black coral and some of the larger tropical fish living around significant shipwrecks of the 17th and 18th century.

PLAYA LARGA - 3nights

Day 7-9: Early breakfast and boat transfer back to Palma Rubia before continue your journey to Playa Larga (353kms). On the way stop at La Cueva de los Peces that is a natural wonder worth experiencing. The locale is beautiful, combined with the plants that spring from the volacanic rock, this is definitely a gift from nature. Described as Cuba's largest natural flooded salt water cave that leads to the ocean, even non divers will appreciate the beauty of this unique spot where you can easily observe many species of multi-coloured tropical fish from the volcanic edge or take a plunge into the waters for a fascinating snorkelling trip. After lunch continue to Playa Larga for a relaxing afternoon. For those who are looking for underwater adventure, our guides there will leads your diving adventures for every level of experience under the pristine underwater world of Playa Girón, one of Cuba's best kept secrets! Opportunity for Night Dives, Cavern Dives and underwater photography at the best spots. Also you may get yourDive initiation, Open Water and Advanced Diver Courses and certifications.
NOTE: Total open water/advanced course time is normally 3-5 days, pending weather conditions. Bespoke Trips recommends a minimum of 4 nights in the destination to avoid disappointment. Referral courses involve 2 half days of dive departures, but do take possible inclement weather into consideration when forming your travel plan to avoid disappointment. If the selected destination involves domestic flights, planning for an extra night is wise. It's recommended not to fly within 24 hours of your last dive so avoiding planning/programming any diving on your last day in the destination is prudent.

CAYO COCO - 2nights

Day 10-11: Early breakfast followed by drive northeast to Cayo Coco (6 + hours) in Cuba's northern archipelago. The fourth largest island and the second main tourist destination. The diving area stretches for over 10kms and there are some live-aboard options for divers. The condition of the reef is brilliant, warm blue green water, great visibility and plenty of proof that the Cubans respect this fantastic natural resource and are doing plenty to take care of it.

HAVANA - 1nights

Day 12: Return to Havana by an internal flight. Relaxing afternoon at your private house in the heart of the historic center. This night you will have a farewell dinner and to visit some of Havana´s newest and hottest privatly owned bars with our nightlife guide.

Day 13: After breakfast, bid farewell to Cuba and board your departure flight.

OTHER SCUBA DIVING OPTIONS IN CUBA

CAYO LARGO: Privileged by nature, Cayo Largo shows an unparalleled beauty in its natural environment and in its incomparable sea bottoms, ideal for contemplative diving. A jewel within the Canarreos Archipelago, this island of singular attractiveness is considered one of the best for diving and nautical activities due to its virgin beaches, protected by beautiful coral formations in not very deep waters, where gorgonian, fish and a varied flora inhabit. Other singular places wait for the curious visit, among them it is worth mentioning the turtles breeding farm where three types of sea turtles are reproduced: Kawama, Green, and Carey. So way not! Experience our 5days bespoke diving package departing from Cienfuegos by a private Catamaran. Opportunity for 2 diving sessions at the famoust Jagua Bank where strong current and meeting with sharks. Next day 3 dives at Cayo Sigua, including dive to black hole. 2 next dives at Cayo Sigua in your third day then transfer to Cayo Largo for an excursion to Cayo Iguana and Playa Sirena, where iguanas lives. This day we will do a night dive at Cayo Largo. Next day we will stay at Cayo Guano where we do 2 dives at Cayo Rosario and evening party with seafood BBQ on the beach. Last day will start with an early morning dive at the Aquarium dive site before transfer to Cayo Trabuko with 2 more dives sessions. Fairwell party on board and overnight transfer back to Cienfuegos.

SANTA LUCIA: There are 35 diving points at Santa Lucía Beach that allow divers meeting with the remains of sunken ships from the 19th and 20th centuries as well as enjoying a curious show in which experienced guides feed with their bare hands friendly sharks near the Nuevitas Bay.

SANTIAGO DE CUBA: The backdrop of beautiful mountains as you descend into the crystal waters of the Caribbean Sea makes diving from Santiago de Cuba something very special. Stunning underwater landscapes are abundant here, with tunnels, caverns, walls and loads of sea life, your diving experience here is sure to be memorable. The best scuba diving area is primarily concentrated in the Baconao Park Zone, with the exception of Chivirico to the west where diving is excellent from Sierra Mar. Sixteen dive sites are in the immediate vicinity of the location of the former Bucanero hotel. There are thirteen more sites in front of Daiquiri Beach. In the eastern end of the park there are at least 6 more notable sites accessed via the Sigua center. The characteristics of the area include the formation of large coral crags that communicate through tunnels and narrow channels. There are large fish, crustaceans and mollusks. The bottoms hold shipwrecks where you can personally feed enormous groupers. Sunken warships from the Spanish fleet commanded by Admiral Pascual Cervera—ships which US naval units sank in mid-1898, during the Spanish-Cuban-American War—lie on the seabed are the main attraction in the Sierra Mar dive center. Sunken Ships names: Oquendo, Vizcaya, Pluton & Furor and Colon.

GIBARA: Diving sessions around the entrance to Cuba's largest flooded cavern, Tanques Azules. With 3,600 m so far explored, this cavern has stalactites and stalagmites originally formed before the cave was flooded by rising sea levels. It is one of the most beautiful in the region with unique wildlife such as shrimps and the blind fish.
